This is an important message from the Borough of Bergenfield.

The National Weather Service is forecasting more than 10 inches of snow from Sunday into Monday. To allow our Department of Public Works to properly prepare, plow roadways, and clear sidewalks and corners for full pedestrian access, on-street parking will be prohibited beginning Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. No parking will be permitted at Borough Hall.

To assist residents, the following municipal lots will be open for public parking:
• Vivyen Field
• Veterans Memorial Park
• PAL Field

Garbage and recycling schedule changes:
• Quadrants 2 and 4: Garbage pickup originally scheduled for Monday, February 23rd has been rescheduled to Thursday, February 26th.
• Quadrant 1: Recycling pickup originally scheduled for Monday, February 23rd has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 25th.

Property owners are reminded to:
• Clear all sidewalks completely and ensure corners at intersections are fully accessible for pedestrians, strollers, and individuals with disabilities.
• Clear at least three feet around all fire hydrants.
• Do not push snow into the street. All snow from driveways and sidewalks must be placed back onto your property. Please note that DPW crews may push snow toward driveway aprons as they clear roadways.

Drivers are reminded to:
• Completely remove all snow and ice from vehicles, including the roof, before traveling to prevent dangerous conditions.

During periods of extreme cold, please bring pets indoors and check on elderly neighbors or anyone who may need assistance.

Due to the storm, Borough Hall may have a delayed opening on Monday, February 23rd, depending on road and weather conditions.

For emergencies, dial 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, contact the Bergenfield Police at (201) 387-4001.

Please stay safe and thank you for your cooperation.
